Victoria, BC - Rounding out an eight-game homestand at Royal Athletic Park, the Victoria Seals squared off against the Chico Outlaws in the finale of their three-game set on Wednesday afternoon. Turning to Jeff Duda (2-2) for the start, the Seals faced off against Demetrius Banks (7-1) in game three.

Striking first for the first time in the series, Victoria got on the board in the bottom of the second inning when Josh Arhart launched a solo home run over the left field fence for a 1-0 Seals lead. Bouncing right back with a home run of their own, the Outlaws took a 3-1 advantage when a two-out blast off the bat of Maikel Jova put the visitors on top.

Adding another run in the top of the fourth, Chico stretched their lead to three runs with the help of singles from Mark Samuelson and Santo DeLeon ahead of an RBI base hit courtesy of Pascual Del Real. Answering with another solo home run, this time from Brian Rios, Victoria trailed the Outlaws 4-2 through four innings of play.

Chico would then come back to blow the game open in the top half of the fifth frame. With J.J. Sherrill leading off the inning with a base hit, two throwing errors charged against Wilver Perez on the same play allowed Jova to score for a second time and give the Outlaws a 6-2 advantage.

Then, four straight base hits from Samuelson, DeLeon, Anthony Manuel and Del Real added another run before Banks cashed in Chico's fourth run of the frame with a sacrifice fly to right field. Despite cashing a pair of runs on an defensive error from Outlaws left fielder Sherrill in the bottom of the frame, the Seals trailed by an 8-4 margin into the sixth inning.

After the respective bullpens pushed the contest through two scoreless innings, Victoria struck again with an RBI single off the bat of Colin Moro to score Josh Arhart's earlier base hit. Unable to muster a comeback against Chico closer Matt Perisho, however, the Seals dropped the mid-week afternoon affair by an 8-5 final score.

Demetrius Banks moved into a tie atop the league leaders with his eighth win on the season, while Jeff Duda fell to 3-2 with the loss. Four hits from Mark Samuelson and three RBI's courtesy of Maikel Jova paced the Outlaws offense, while Josh Arhart finished 3-for-4 in a losing effort for Victoria.
